I get this error message a lot when clicking on messages on this board. I have tried clearing cookies, using a different browser (firefox or edge instead of Chrome)

Could you provide some example URLs?

I had something like this happen on certain websites when I was using a satellite based internet service. The website could deal with the high latency in my connection. It did not happen on many sites at all but it was a pain.

I was having trouble with this too, but I just cleared cookies, logged back in, and now I can read the thread. It's happened in the past a few times, also.

This happens to me quite often when I am not logged in. Same internet provider, just another computer that is not logged in.

I believe this may have something to do with the redirects I have in place to get us from the old SurveyorConnect website to the new RPLS.com. I will be removing those soon, so hopefully that will clear it up for you.

There's a lot of variations in the redirects I have setup, so it's entirely possible that some of them just aren't working exactly like they should. It's hard to get them just right when you have nearly 600,000 posts, and I've tried to set them up as high level as possible, i.e. I don't want to manually configure 600k redirects if I can use a few formulae to catch the vast majority of them. These were setup mostly to satisfy Google and other search engines, to show that the website lives on, but in another location with different URLs. They are working great, but the time will be here soon to remove them and release RPLS.com into the wild.

Wendell, if it helps, I checked yesterday on a computer that was not logged in. I could read most of the current threads, but the chit chat and site feedback threads would go to the redirect error. On the logged in computer there were no redirects

Thank you, that is very helpful. Some forums/groups are not available to the public because they aren't surveying-specific. The fact that you are not able to view those while logged out is expected behavior, but the redirect error is not expected.

I appreciate the feedback! More information is always good and helps me to determine the true issue. 🙂
