Last Thursday I accidentally became the very first recipient of the Beer Legger of the Week Award. Thanks again to Andy Nold for the nomination, and to Angel for the award. I was reminded that, per the tradition from the other board, it is my responsibility to choose my successor. I have been on the road all weekend so I haven't had the time to deal with this until now, but I have thinking about how I would make the decision.
It seems to me that the Beer Legger award should be different than the old board. Rather than one person randomly choosing another I would like to see the Legger going to people who are using this board to pass knowledge on to others. Based on that principle I have tried to create a few basic rules:
The nominee has to have a recent posting with real world useful information about a topic related to surveying. The current holder of the award may choose to make more than one nomination.
The winner of the award will be confirmed by our esteemed panel of judge - the inimitable Ms. Angel Harness, who will also post the official announcement. Better to receive the award from a pretty lady than from a crusty old fart like me anyways.;-)
