I was checking the receiver options on my SPS881 rover using Winflash and noticed that it was posting some error codes, so decided to reload the installed v4.19 firmware.?ÿ ?ÿThe process appeared to terminate ok, but following the reflash, the receiver will not run correctly.?ÿ After startup, it runs for about 60 seconds and?ÿthan reboots in a continuous loop.?ÿ After about 3 minutes?ÿ the?ÿLEDS on the front panel indicate that the receiver has entered the?ÿMonitor?ÿmode, ready for new?ÿfirmware to be loaded or?ÿnew options to be added.?ÿ ?ÿIt continues to post error codes.
NOTE:?ÿ I can still connect to the receiver via bluetooth using my TSC2, and can connect to the radio using the Access/Survey Controller software but can get no further as it reboots.?ÿ?ÿ
Being Trimble this one is likely to cost me a bundle to fix, so hoping for some advice from anyone who has experienced similar issues.
1) Is this likely to be a firmware issue in which case I pony up a grand and?ÿupgrade to the latest firmware v4.61.?ÿ
or is it more likely to be a Main PCB as it was already posting error codes prior to my attemp to reflash and I get to pony up considerably more.
?ÿ2) In Winflash there is an option to reinstall the radio firmware..?ÿ But for the life of me, I cannot see the radio firmware listed on the Trimble Support website.?ÿ ?ÿCan anyone shed some light on this issue, is the radio firmware able to be installed by an end user or can it only be done by a dealer??ÿ ?ÿ Perhaps it is already included and installed along with the Main PCB firmware?
