I have been using a Satel Easy Pro 35 Radio with a Trimble SPS850 base and am happy with the results.?ÿ?ÿThe Satel has a LCD display with keyboard which is way good as it allows me to configure frequency and power settings on the fly.?ÿ ?ÿ(No need to ask dealer for set files etc)
I have the option to purchase a used Topcon SRL-35 radio which at first take appears to be a rebadged Satel Easy Pro.
Has anyone experience with both modems able to tell me:
1)?ÿ Are the Satel and Topcon power/data/programming cables interchangeable.?ÿ(ie. can I use my Satel cables to power and programme the Topcon SRL-35)?
2) Does the Satel Configuration Manager work with the Topcon SRL-35?
3) Are the passwords different (ie. Can the Satel Configuration Manager operate on the Topcon SLR-35 in maintenance mode)
4) If necessary, can I replace the Topcon firmware with the latest Satel firmware ??ÿ
?ÿThanks in advance

I have the same question as (4) - can I load the Satel TA18 firmware into the Topcon SRL-35?
The Topcon is clearly a rebadged Satel TA18, but with stripped-down firmware and AFAIK a dealer needs to program the frequencies.
I have a need to change frequencies on the fly depending on the geographic area (I got the licenses covered, thanks) and shlepping it to the dealer isn’t practical.
You can configure the TopconSLR-35, add frequencies and update firmware using the Satal Configuration manager software if you log on in "maintenance" mode (goto to programme manager | password | type in the lowercase word: maintenance)
I have tried flashing it with the Satel T18 firmware but it will not accept the Satel firmware (says it is incorrect version).
Satel has two versions of firmware for the EasyPro35 T18
-SATELLINE_EASyPro35W_SURV_fw_06_24_3_63.s18
This is a survey field version that requires the frequencies to be configured in the office
-SATELLINE_EASyPro35W_fw_06_18_3_63.s18
This is an unrestricted version that allows frequencies to be configured in the field (providing the
frequency list is left empty or disabled)
My SLR-35 is running firmware version: SATELLINE_SRL35_fw_06_25_3_63.u18
- This appears to be a modified version of the Satel SURV firmware that may be restrict transmitting at more than 0 amp if bandwidth is set to 25khz and the link rate is less than 19200 baud.
I am looking for an older version of SLR-35 firmware pre 2013 when the restricted 25khz regulations came into force. Does anyone have older firmware??
The SLR-35 I have allows me to change to 25KHz, but I do not have the firmware. Is there a way to download the firmware from the radio?
@pwkirk05 Thank you for the maintenance mode password, appreciate it! It worked perfectly and I was able to setup my id callsign and frequencies to match my license privileges. Your post was a big help.
I have the same firmware as you (SATELLINE_SRL35_fw_06_25_3_63.u18), apologies I can't help there.
Tony.
@pwkirk05 Thank you for the maintenance mode password. Using it allowed me to set my callsign id and frequencies to match my license privileges. Your post was a big help.
Unfortunately, I have the same firmware version you have, apologies that I can't help with that.
Tony.
