Has anyone been using this successfully??ÿ I'm interesting in trying the integration of static and RTK vectors, so I set up a v5.0B project, but when I submit a data file to OPUS it rejects my project ID.?ÿ The GVX files appear to be taken into Projects without issue, but I can't tell for sure because I can't get any static data into the project.

Hi Jim, glad to hear more folks are testing out GVX in Beta OPUS Projects.?ÿ I think I saw that you got this resolved, but I figured posting here might clarify if someone else runs into the same predicament.

Remember that if you are using Beta OPUS Projects, then your uploads must be added to your project using Beta OPUS Static.?ÿ Admittedly, the "Error: Project identifier is invalid" popup message doesn't provide much insight into the problem.?ÿ The logistics of providing a detailed error message would be tough, but I'll drop a line to the OPUS team to see if maybe they could add a sentence about this situation.

Note below the subtle difference in the URLs.

Beta OPUS --> https://beta.ngs.noaa.gov/OPUS/index.jsp

OPUS --> https://www.ngs.noaa.gov/OPUS/

On the topic of our Beta tools, we are now placing links to them on our homepage, over on the right hand side in the News Bulletins section under the Beta Release header.

If you haven't checked it out, the NGS Map is the newest item there.?ÿ It's an ArcGIS Online based tool that has a lot more flexibility than the classic NGS Data Explorer.

?ÿ

@jimcox so its just a software thing to take the sv data and export to a GVX file same as Rinex??ÿ Just wondering why there are not any/many converters our there.?ÿ Rinex file format was simple to understand.?ÿ

Are GVX files ascii or binary??ÿ And can someone post one for viewing/download?

GVX files are a form of XML ASCII text. You can probably find the standard on the NGS web site.

Javad Triumph-LS (hardware and software), though I haven't experimented further since the time of my original posting.?ÿ I reported the glitches I found to the Javad team, and I think they changed the output format accordingly, but I haven't tested it yet.

@hpalmer

As of today, the COTS software that I know of which can export GVX are:

Leica Infinity 4.0.0 (or newer)

Topcon MAGNET Software v7.2 (or newer) - can export from the Office or Field products

Trimble Business Center v5.60 (or newer)

?ÿ

Additionally, developers from companies listed below have either expressed or interest in exporting GVX or are already working on it.?ÿ Please contact them directly if you want more details.

Carlson

iGage

Emlid

?ÿ

Finally, I will mention that JAVAD J-field, onboard the Triumph-LS, will export a GVX... but the last example file I got from someone was not properly to standard so it could not be uploaded to Beta OPUS Projects.?ÿ JAVAD actually had their exporter running before anyone else, but I have not been able to get in contact with any of their developers to see if they will be addressing the issues with their current exporter.?ÿ If anyone has a GVX from J-field and you want to share it, feel free, just let me know what version it came from.

@hpalmer Oops, didn't see your later message at first.?ÿ?ÿ

Here is a link to the GVX File Format homepage, where we do have 3 or 4 sample files that can be downloaded for investigating.

Aaaand, just to throw everyone for a loop... note that soon enough the GVX format will be absorbed into the GDX File Format (Geodetic Data eXchange).?ÿ What's GDX??ÿ It's any type of survey data, not just GNSS but also Classical (total station), Level, and Relative Gravimetry.?ÿ And yes, the major software developers are already aware of the GVX-->GDX change.

thank you and just what I was looking for - format appears 'straight forward'.?ÿ Not sure why if some have written a script to output the GVX format to their tablet software that they would not provide a stand alone.?ÿ GVX here today and replaced with GDX tomorrow??ÿ?ÿ

I do like the GVX format as it tags meta data with the field observations to include instruments, observations, time, sv's,?ÿ
