I would like to know if anyone is using this system and what kind of results they are getting. The more I read, the more interested I am in them.?ÿ How hard is it to setup and work with? What kind of learning curve is there when it comes to field genius? Any information would be appreciated.

If I am not wrong, this is the original. Carlson have rebadged them to BRX7. There are good reviews about them but I personally have not tried them yet.?ÿ

I have used the s321 units, and they were great. The PPP option is nice as well.

The S631 units are very good.?ÿ ?ÿI am having a minor issue with the IMU (tilt correction).?ÿ ?ÿ Field Genius is a very bulky software seemingly made for the office jockey to use.?ÿ Learning curve for me was a few months.?ÿ ?ÿThis software is not for high production field crews as it runs much slower than Carlson SurvCE. Even old Trimble software was faster.?ÿ ?ÿ Field genius menus are scattered about?ÿ ?ÿit would be nice if they linked routines?ÿ ?ÿ example, taking continuous topo?ÿ at a certain distance, then changing the spacing, requires A lot of menu changes.?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿThere are local transformation glitches also.?ÿ ?ÿ Care must be taken to assure that the desired vertical data is used.?ÿ ?ÿThe program assumes that all control points are H and V. The vertical box must be unchecked.?ÿ ?ÿ Micro survey staff is polite and willing to help, but still unfamiliar with their own software.?ÿ My awesome dealer, has done more to solve issues, than micro survey staff.?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿAll in all, I love my system.?ÿ But a warning,?ÿ ?ÿdouble and triple check your data before leaving the field.?ÿ ?ÿBase and rover work the best.?ÿ?ÿ
