Brothers and sisters I need help. ?ÿI own a TopCon HiPer V base and rover GPS unit. ?ÿRecently my FC-5000 data collector went down. ?ÿI sent it in for repair but TopCon no longer has parts for the FC-5000. Currently an FC-6000 with Pocket 3D is about $5000. ?ÿI'm out of work right now and I can't afford an expense that big. ?ÿCan anyone tell me who windows tablet I can use with Pocket 3D to link with my GPS. ?ÿSomeone mentioned once they used a Panasonic running windows and were able to buy the Pocket 3D license. ?ÿThat seems like a more affordable option. ?ÿIf anyone knows which is the best windows tablet to use I would greatly appreciate it. ?ÿThank you
I’m shocked that the FC-5000 is out of support. The one I use is only 5 years old. Another reason to ditch Topcon?

These are not made by Topcon. Your dealer is blowing smoke. He never had parts. Contact Juniper Systems. They fixed a screen issue just last month on an FC5000 for free. Also there are plenty of cheap ones on Ebay..
Probably not the case, but if you’re *truly* desperate there’s always QGIS which will run on anything but an iPhone/iPad (you can use the QField App for QGIS if all you have is an iPad).
I tried unsuccessfully to get a single receiver connected ~4 years ago, but the GPS utilities are still built-in to every QGIS update, and QGIS itself just keeps getting better and better. QField also appears to have established itself and is maintaining frequent updates.
Not sure how I’d try to approach RTK or even RTN/RTK but apparently there are software packages people are linking with QGIS
If you build the right template (and manage to connect your receiver(s)), I could see it being pretty decent for certain situations.
Almost the excuse I need to get a chest mounted tablet thingy
