I would like to know if anyone is using one of these on a regular basis. How well do they work? Are there any glaring issues? How well does the TAG work? Also, how well does it work with x-pad or survce.

I have the Zenith 40's which is same chip. Can't discern any difference to Lecia gs16's for results. The tag is the same as every other magnetic tilt option, not worth the hassle to use worrying if calibration has gone out. The imu tilt options are a completely different game and are excellent, Lecia GS18, Trimble R12 etc. Geomax make the Zenith 60 with an IMU but have not used that yet, would expect just as good.

The bigger difference is neither SurvCE or XPAD are quite as powerful as Leica's software (or Trimble's), you can't control every last option (which for most users is fine, I'm at the geek end of spectrum and prefer full control). I'm not a fan of SurvCE as clunky to use I find (can never understand SurvCE users claiming Leica software is hard to use!) and not true geodetic cogo as ellipsoidal/geodetic distances which we need for boundary work here (not just grid/ground). That said XPAD does 90-95% of Lecia offerings at half the price for the whole package (run XPAD on a Panasonic fz-b2 and have a Zoom90 robot also). For anyone except a large firm that is embedded with Leica I suggest XPAD is a good option, very user friendly software.

The biggest question is how good is your local dealer as support as nearly as important as the hardware itself, the best kit with poor support is useless.

If money was no object I'd get Leica but Geomax/XPAD had proved the best overall value for me. Trimble be ok too of I got given it but it's same price or dearer than Lecia here and I think Lecia GS18 best GNSS at present and prefer Lecia robot passive tracking over active (heavy) prism of Trimble.

We use one every day.?ÿ Works well with others.?ÿ Only issue is not compatible with 4g network.?ÿ We use it with Survpc on a tablet with a cell modem slot.?ÿ Survpc is not quick (on a tablet) but gets the job done.?ÿ We do not use TAG as no real need to.?ÿ I did test TAG and it performed reasonably well - 4 positions of a circle 30deg tilt.
If buying new, buy newer technology.

Do you use other GNSS you can provide a comparison with or just the Geomax? If buying newer do you mean the Zenith 60 or another receiver?
Have older Leica stuff that is solid and good repeatability. Have newer stuff to include Leica base station, zenith 40 and Tersus Oscar. ?ÿNo Zenith 60 but is a great option. ?ÿOf the above Tersus is best recent customer service followed by Leica at a cost ?ÿGeomax works well on Carlson ?ÿ

Having tried XPAD and Carlson SurvCE with Geomax the XPAD is far easier to use and much better site calibration options for GNSS. Can understand sticking with SurvCE if you're used to it but if starting from scratch XPAD much easier.
@lukenz sorry as just saw this.?ÿ Nuwa software - is impressive for such a small footprint.?ÿ Not bells and whistles but does what we need.
