Any recommendations for current software that will process files for these old receivers.?ÿ Something simple and lowcost.?ÿ
No, I don't have a clue on the software but are you still using those old single frequency units?
Why not call Hayes, they used to sell them and may have some old software copies squirreled away.
I have the original software, but it only runs on WINXP.?ÿ?ÿ The latest project I did, it will not process the data.?ÿ I was told the recent rollover did not affect these, but...
I only use them a few times a year.?ÿ I am a dinosaur as far as GPS goes.?ÿ?ÿ The latest project I did is something new.?ÿ It will import the files from one receiver...looks great.?ÿ It will import the files from the second receiver...they look great.?ÿ?ÿ But if I try to import both sets of files...it locks up.?ÿ It will not even load them into the software, let alone process them.?ÿ All the date stamps, epochs, settings have not changed from previous usage and all look to be the same.?ÿ I am going to run another set of observations and try again. Full days work.?ÿ I would be open to suggestion of cheapest, simplest, easy to use GPS equipment.?ÿ The only thing we use them for is to tie to State Plane coordinates and transfer elevations for FEMA flood certificates.
Hi Sam! Long time no see! or no hear!
Talk to Mark at Igage. They sell a processor that will probably process anything, from single to dual and multi constellation.
I think it is around 500-600 bucks, but check with him. They have an ad somewhere around here you can get phone no.

I am using their IG-8 system. It was the most inexpensive system that I found to do what it will do.
They are working good for us, been using them over a year.
Once you get started with RTK, you will wonder why you waited.
greatest thing since sliced pizza.

Sam, I just sent you a PM.
Probably 80-90 percent of our work now is doing very detailed projects with Architects.?ÿ I have thought about upping our GPS, but do not see how it will gain us much.?ÿ I have plenty of manpower...5 sons and 3 daughters.?ÿ I think a robotic instrument would probably do us more good.?ÿ I just need the occasional tie to state plane or elevations.
I am out surveying till later today
The last version of Ashtech Solutions 2.70 runs on my Win 7 32 bit setup. It is not as finicky as some of my older programs in that I did not have to install it directly on the C drive, but works from the Programs folder. I learned many years back that you need Admin approval to run it because it automatically changes file contents. Win 7 advises me of that and I need to reply affirmatively to allow Win 7 to start the program. It does not have anywhere near the latest Geoid info but since I work from current OPUS positions that does not bother me. By the way my Win 7 computer has actual COM1 and LPT1 ports but I have worked with another surveyor that uses a COM1 adaptor on his newer laptop.
If you are using RINEX to use the receiver results in another post processor, the latest Spectra Precision RINEX convertor works and runs as a standalone program. If you want to go to the bother you can address different RINEX converter programs from within Solutions, but it is not a neccessity.

I am still using GNSS Solutions
I can download all the files at once.
Must run a solution for only one at a time and it will need to be reloaded over and over to get them all computed and then after all have been computed I can then process for a corrected solution.
It takes longer and is bothersome and it is all I can do with what I have.

I use mine a couple times a year...had the same problem both times I used them this year...
Kept trying to get the files processed and finally got it. One of the files had the wrong day number in the file name.
I installed Solutions 2.60 on my Win10 machine, runs fine. I still have to download onto an old WinXP machine, need to find a way to DL to the new pc's.

I checked that, but I will check again.?ÿ We are rerunning the sessions to see if there is a glitch in our original data.?ÿ I also tried rinex conversion out and then conversion back in which went through without a hitch, hoping that might clean something up.

I recently upgraded the OS on my work computer to Win10.?ÿ All my software still runs.?ÿ A customer in Alabama sent me his three Promark2 units a few days ago.?ÿ I was able to upgrade the firmware on them to version 2.5.?ÿ Two of them had files on them that he could not download that were collected after the week rollover.?ÿ I got all the files to download and I was able to process the data and the results looked reasonable for what he was doing.?ÿ I downloaded CORS data through the download utility in GNSS Solutions and was able to tighten up the results up a bit.
We have the last released version of GNSS Solutions (3.80.8) on our ftp site.
Might look into that.?ÿ We are running another set of points as we "speak".?ÿ I will see how it comes out.?ÿ
