I am thinking of retiring soon, so if you were a SELLER, how much would they be worth.
I have never seen any for sale, but often got asked to sell both of mine.
They are from late 1977 I think, I cant remember when I got them.
They are ZNL, long nosed model, mint condition, with the knob to invert the mirror for setting up over a point and then sighting up by changing the mirror back again. So you can look up and down from one set up.
I still have the original wooden boxes with the leather strips to hold the catches shut.
The specs were 1mm in 70metres, but I often got more than that, and by meaning the readings always got within 1-2 mm, as verified by independant units.
These are not toys or collectors items, but calibrated working instruments, I wont need them after this China job.
I also have a 900mm long 100mm dia. 80kg machined plumbob, for those hard to get at places, and its even more accurate, good in lift shafts, when used 2 at a time you can set out points on all floors by radiating arcs and setting by intersections.
Thanks
David
Very interested. Price dependent, of course, but I'd like one of them. I'll watch this thread closely.
I'm in Adelaide.
I'll ask the Leica guys here at hexagon what they think.
hard to beat a ZNL 16. used to use one in concrete construction layout. in my opinion, they are priceless

That's 176 lbs! That would pull my pants down!

80 kg plumbbob
Imagine trying to reel in a couple hundred feet of that line from an elevator shaft.
On Ebay they show up about 2-3 times a year; last one sold on May 13th 2012 for $1700 plus $100 shipping (if to the US)- was sold by a UK seller (who sells other Wild and Leica gear, and whom I can vouch for having personally purchased some other equipment on Ebay from him.)

A few other sales in the last couple years were in the $1200-$1500 on Ebay.
