I've got a license of Trimble Business Center Survey Advanced (and associated HASP dongle) that I rarely use. I upgraded to TBC from Trimble's earlier TGO software, at an upgrade cost of around $1,600, when I acquired it and a pair of Trimble 4000 receivers which I no longer own. I don't have any Trimble equipment any more. The end user license agreement for this software permits it to be transferred to another party. My software is authorized up to version 2.81 (November 2012). I have requested a quote from my Trimble dealer for upgrading to latest version.

Anyone interested? Make me an offer.

Al

I'd be interested but the price to bring it current is a big factor.

Hi, thanks for your interest. I contacted my dealer, and he told me that if you were going to buy a new license of this software, it would cost $2,800. I asked him what it would cost to upgrade my current license, and he said it would cost $800. So, the value of what I have is not more than $2,000. The cardboard box that the HASP key and original CD shipped in is a little bent up, but as far as I can tell, the value is in the ditigal license, and you'll get the same exact license/rights that you would get if you purchased new. I'll work with you to ensure that is the case. Make me an offer, or let me know if you have any other questions.

Well, my dealer apparently made a mistake on the pricing he quoted me. He sent me an email this morning indicating that the cost of a new license would be $2,995, and that the cost to upgrade would be $1,499. That was quite a change from what he had quoted earlier, so I checked with another Trimble dealer, and he confirmed that the pricing to upgrade would be $1,499. So, it appears that the value of what I have is not more than $1,500. I would sell it for $1,000. Please note that, according to my dealer, you do not have to upgrade the software. It can be transferred to another party without an upgrade.

Al,
Thanks for the confirmation. I'll check with my business partners and should have a decision in a few days.
Please don't place a hold on it though. If someone comes along ready to make a commitment then it should be theirs.

Al,
If it's still available, we're ready to pull the trigger and purchase. I confess to not having bought or sold anything through a message board before so I'm not sure what standard protocols there might be. If it would work easiest for you, my email is reneec@branchengineering.com or phone is 541.746.0637.
Thanks,
Renee
