My boss is looking for a tripod that would hold a K&E Level he has. The sticker on the level says it needs a 3-1/2 x 8 thread tripod.

He's looking for a standard old-school survey tripod. There are jillions of them out there, new and used.
Jim - I just told Ryan to check with you - among other possibilities. I told him I could help, but figure there have got to be some closer than coast to coast.
I have a stiff-legged tripod right here in Pasadena.
