On May 9 & 10 the North-East Chapter of TSPS will be sponsoring workshops in Jefferson. Yours truely will be the instructor. On Friday the subject will be Survey History with field exercises where you will use old compasses & chains to complete various survey tasks. On Saturday will be a 4 hour Ethics class so you can meet that requirement.
Additionally, they always provide great food and a good time. This will be my 4th time there and I always look forward to the time with friends.
Y'all come.
thanks for the heads up. i haven't seen anything about it until now.
i like the courses that show how the footsteps of the original surveyor were made. it makes you realize the difference between the reality that we should be following and the numbers oriented stuff that some folks hang their hats on.
the old folks up there always put on the best historical seminars. I'll see if we can't make that one.
Sounds good, but I am going to one in the Panhandle at the end of April on the LIT Ranch in Hartley County.
It is all being taught by LSLS's. One of whom I helped some on his way to becoming registered.
Dave, Chapter 23 looks forward for your return.
Hope to share a brew with any that wish to participate while we wait for supper Friday.
Maybe we can get Shawn to buy us "old folks" a round, lol. 😉

Mr. Harris,
Will Chapter 23 accept Arkansas money? I would hate to be intruding...;-)

P.S. Do you think I can claim the "old folks" discount?
P.S.S. Is there a WalMart in Jefferson?
Seminar site is at Kellyville, Tx 32.785253N,94.414689W
Jefferson is not large enough for a WalMart, it is well visited historical town and there is a Time and Survey Museum and many other places that are worth a visit.
If you are thinking about a place to park a camper, Buckhorn Creek is very close.
If you must go with WalMart, there is one on the north edge of Marshall.
