Hey, are there any readups or classes out there on how to survey the Texas Sections and Blocks? I could have sworn I had a mail about it once but lost it, and not seeing anything on the list for the board approve courses.?ÿ
Well, if you can wait until February, Josh Leamons, Stan Piper and I will be presenting a course on the 80 Mile T&P Railway Reservation at the TSPS Symposium in Odessa. If you don't find yourself able to visit the garden spot of Texas in the middle of winter, it is probable that it will also be livestreamed.

Just curious about these classes because I have been doing a bit of work over by Big Spring lately, would be good to learn of the "correct" way to set these sections with very limited monuments.
I think Stan has planned to discuss Seay's OX plat with the split section corners and definitely the typical Estes breakdowns which move the excess into the even sections. Also case law that is applicable to railroad sections in general. Should be perfect for you if you are working in Howard/Martin/Glasscock.
@andy-nold sounds like what I'm looking for. How long is the class? And does it count towards CEUs?
