I hope to sit for Nevada in January or April. The subjects seem pretty straightforward. I have a few questions for any recent candidates.
For FHA grading, I have only found the general guidelines consisting of about 1 page. Is there any further information you would consider helpful?
There are 2 test locations. I am leaning to Reno, although my wife will over ride that if she can come with me. Did anyone have any good or bad (test environment related) experiences that would steer you to one place or the other?
Any other words of wisdom would be appreciated.

I sat for the exam in Reno in 2009, not sure if that is recent or relevant, held in the Board offices, about 20 folks around a big conference table. Pretty straight forward exam as I recall. There is quite a bit of study material revolving around condos, I didn't study that in detail, because I don't do that kind of work and the exam matrix showed those questions would be minimal, that was basically a tactic I used to concentrate on stuff I basically knew with a good chance at answering correctly. Maybe that technique defeats the purpose of testing minimal competency on ALL subjects, but it is one way to up your chances of successfully passing an exam in NV or any other state. If I was a downtown Vegas or Reno surveyor and was strong in condo laws, I would of probably skipped studying much on state plane law, it is all about increasing your odds on the tests. To this day after being licensed 24 years, I haven't messed with a condo and never intend to do so 🙂
All my NV projects have been very rural (expect for some USAF base mapping at Nellis AFB in LV), usually stuff around I-80 or north.

Thanks Shelby. I have made my Nevada law binder and integrated it into my reading routine. I noticed the same thing on condos. It's a lot of reading for two potential points. My effort there will be a one time read and a few trips through the definitions.
I have a tendency to plan that way, then my ego takes over and I go way overboard. Then I sweat blood waiting for the results. I'm sure many on here are familiar...

Tom, results are quick, IIRC NV was about the fastest of all the states, of course small group to grade.
