Lee, This thread is pretty old but it has a lot of good info on it. I’m trying to do this same thing. I have been studying how to do this and I am able to get the ranger with TRU to connect to the Hiper Lite and log data. When I retrieve the file it is a .TPS file. I have sent this file to OPUS but get a message saying ‘The year and day-of-year could not be determined from the submitted data set.’ The conversion is aborted. Am I supposed to do a Rinex conversion on this file first or is there something else I’m supposed to do? Any help you could give would be great. Thank You
Sounds like you started collecting static data before the receiver had a recent ephemeris. When the Hiper is off for extended period the clock would reset back to 1988.
May need to truncate the first 10 or 15 minutes of the static data.
Thank You, I will try again.
I remember using my laptop with a usb to serial converter with my Hiper + to log static data directly to the laptop in case that’s more convenient for anyone. Probably was using TRU to do it.
“May need to truncate the first 10 or 15 minutes of the static data.”
I started the receiver and let it cook a few minutes before logging and it has worked flawlessly since. Thank you for your help!
