Now we just need one of those DARPA robotic pack dogs to haul equipment into the brush and lay waste to areas in the vicinity of a monument before taking shots from the TSC7 hot tub mount in an Alta condo.
ddInteresting, I’ll have to give it a try with the ole fc6000. Might be a little easier importing and exporting points instead of using the touch screen.
Now we need a mouse pad and bracket connected to the rod. Wonder if my wireless mouse would work. This would be handy when sitting in the truck doing some comps and such. Is there a way that i can remote in from the office to my crews to show them cogo tips and such. I remember when i had something for tsce and tsc2 i used for trouble shooting many years ago.
I have a wireless keyboard and mouse I use with the RT3 tablet. I clamp the RAM mount to the steering wheel, hold the keyboard on my lap, and run the mouse around on the center console. Got Carlson Survey on the tablet, as well as SurvPC. Saved quite a few return trips to jobs with that setup.

Trimble already has ’em, I believe they’ve been working with Boston Dynamics for at least 3-4 years. I think there were about half a dozen running around Dimensions this past November, carrying laser scanners, etc.

Sure can. There are plenty of options – TeamViewer is one – the local dealer here puts it on all the controllers they sell. They like TeamViewer because it works on Android as well as windows.
Or you could use Windows’ Remote desktop, but it is not so easy to configure or connect
We use Zoho Assist to remotely access our controllers for troubleshooting. Works pretty well for us, I can take control of their DC if/when I need to.

I’ve used Teamviewer without any previous experience. Very easy to use.

I hope everyone has a great day; I know I will!@sergeant-schultz Occasionally, I’ll take my laptop to the field with me but I bet that’s even handier. Wonder if anyone makes a DC that will draw contours? That could be handy every now and then to check the grading in the field.
@rover83 hey thanks. I will look that up.
@jimcox thank you.
Better have a third set of batteries though, instead of the usual 2 sets to get through a long day. LOL.
I did used to keep a mouse and keyboard in the truck for the old Panasonic tablet but it didn’t seem worth it. When I really need them is when I’m outside in wet snow when the tsc7 won’t recognize the included stylus so I have to pull off my gloves and use my frozen fingers.
I remember using the tsc2 with a broken screen as an instrument man almost 10 years ago when I was still pretty new. You could do basically everything with only the keys, except compute area. I wish Trimble would make the keyboard more consistently available in access.
Does the mouse actually work inside Access though? Or just on the windows desktop?
I don’t bother with the cable. I’ve got a small Logitech mouse (Bluetooth) that is made for traveling that fits in the case with the DC. I use it when I need to move files around or manipulate anything that fat fingers might screw up. It has a button on top that allows you to switch between three different Bluetooth devices so I can pair it with my laptop and both T7 tablets and only carry one mouse that works with any device needed in the field.

Figured bluetooth should work – and I know what you mean about fat fingers on a TSC7 screen

That’s cool – do you know the model number? – it sounds like the perfect solution.
