Not specifically surveying but I’ve been kicking around an idea for a new tattoo for a couple of years and I think this wood block print best captures the essence of it. Years ago when I first came to Alaska I worked on fishing boats out in Aleutians and was mesmerized by albatross that no matter how hard the winds were blowing or seas stormy, seemed to so gracefully and effortlessly soar above and through all of it. This tattoo I hope would maybe celebrate and capture some of their ‘Mana’.

Great idea! Thanks for sharing.
Not that it matters but I think that would make a great tattoo. Good line work that I think would transfer pretty well. When you do it, please share, I’d like to see the finished drawing.
T. Nelson – SAM, LLC I just had this one tat done and I wasn??t too happy with it.
I’m having a beer so I asked a couple of the young ladies behind the bar if they’d like to see me with a tattoo or naked. I’m getting a tattoo.
I’ve thought about it but decided it’s not for me.
I changed my mind and got one to celebrate the beginning of my 8th decade.
Very cool! Glad you changed your mind.
I recently added to my tattoo collection (though not surveying related). Line work was completed at the end of March. I’ll go back later this year to do the shading/color.
I’ll try and get a photo now that it’s mostly set in.
T. Nelson – SAM, LLCThanks.
I called and got an appointment 2 days later. After about 10 minutes he commented that my skin sucked up the ink. I’m a little disappointed that he didn’t take that into consideration and got the cardinal directions crowded. My oldest son goes to a lady who is booked 4 months out. Comparing his tattoos to mine I know why.
My personal theory with regard to tattoos, piercings and such is that I am simply too beautiful the way Darwin evolved me to want to sully things up.
When I think of what I might have had tattooed on me 10 or 20 years ago, it is enough to kill any thought of having something tattooed on me today. It’s a lovely picture. Get it on canvas and hang it on the wall.
Two cannibals were eating a Clown. One says to the other… “Does this guy taste funny to you?”
I hope everyone has a great day; I know I will!@norman-oklahoma
Here ya go!
I hope everyone has a great day; I know I will!I’ve been to the artist eight times, but only have six tats. Coverups is an art form…
@dougie
Lost me with that one. No clue what that is indicating. Sorry for being dense/dents.

Oh, I knew that one. I was referring to guy with playing cards.
Way back 60 years ago, I swear I memorized every line of that novelty song and sang them at the top of my voice while driving a tractor.
“Tan me hide, when I’m dead, Fred”
I don’t know what it was about tatts that brought Buffalo Bill to mind. Maybe it’s just me.
ddThere are two things for which I am extremely grateful that they did not occur during my drinking days. One, that nobody ever brought a camera along to take pictures. Two, that nobody ever said “Let’s go get tattoos.”
