Do you honestly think Paterno would have lost his job by doing the right thing, like this poor woman? No way on Earth would he have been kicked out.

And even if Paterno had been fired, it is not like he was gonna be living on the streets afterwards, the guy makes a million a year.

Mandatory Reporting. Someone mentioned it the other day.
swmbo finally tuned into this story today. She has worked in child protection/counseling for various state and private non-profits.
She hs been employed for years by the school board as a child counselor and crisis counselor and a behavioral specialist for teachers and admin.
I told her the synopsis of the story. She is in total disbelief that this has gone on for so many years. She sees and blames the extreme mania of football in our society.
She said that educators have to follow mandatory reporting to authorities over any wiff of child abuse.

Paul,If you think that Joepa did what was necessary of him, then you need to get into your truck and drive up to State College and remove the title 'educator' from his bronze statue on campus and also 'humanitarian'
Just leave his statue with Joseph V. Paterno with the word "coach" on it.
I seem to understand the denial and anger tht you are feeling. A part of your life and many memories have been tarnished with the scandal. Your trips to PSU games and game dinners with your family members are now tarnished. Your beloved PSU now blemished with the worst sports scandal in history.
