in accordance with section 1 paragraph 23 of the Man Code that states "Always pay your bets" I present to you as my avatar, the banner of the greatest player to ever don a Red Wing sweater in the history of that storied franchise up there in little d.
The Great Mike Modano. Which will serve as the official avatar of one Roadhand until a time in which Your Dallas Starrrrrs once again skate to a victory. Fret not dear beerleggers as this too shall pass.
P.S to WG~ I knew I was in trouble when I saw "RedLight Raycroft" Skate out and post up in goal 😉
I am duly impressed by not only the sporting diligence that is always maintained by us die hard hockey nuts, but your creative selection of displaying it.
We do both agree that nobody can speak more highly of Mr Modano. He'll be in Hall on the first go around, as it should be. It was unfortunate that he got sliced up last year and couldn't go out with another glory...but still it was good he got the opportunity and the entire city was pulling for his success. As was I from 2,500 miles away.
BTW, his number 9 stays in Dallas. A certain Mr Gordie Howe is the retired number 9 in Motown. Mr Modano was 90 as a Wing (I think) for that reason. But you knew that..;-)
Also, he went to the arch rival Stevenson High School about 4 miles from my alma mater Franklin HS. Both in the Livonia Public School District. All though I've got many years on him, it's still kinda cool IMO. (does that make me famous...lol 😛 )
Gordie Who? 😀
I remember back in the 70's when Gordie, Mark, & Marty Howe all played together on the Whalers. How cool was that. I think Mark is currently a recruiting czar for the Wings, and I'm sure Gordie is somehow involved. Don't know about the little brother.
Don't know if Mark ever got a Gordie Howe Hat Trick, but Pavel Datsyuk did last year. Those are always fun for anybody.
Good luck to your Stars. It seems they put some pieces together, in a very tough division. And please get all that ownership BS sorted out.
