Finally, got my password here reset so I can post.

Anyway, a few days ago I recall a post about someone with issues with Win8.
Well, the next night (night before last) my machine died out of the blue. I pharted around with it for 4 or 5 hours the next day and gave up. Called the guy I'm doing work for to let him know. Several hours later he's dragging me over to BestBuy for a new unit. It's all Win8 and golly mercy what a different world is this!!!!!
I might as well go from DOS 5.x to Win3.x in less than a day! Probably more dramatic actually.

It was the first time either of us had seen a Win8 screen. Shoot, I'd never a Win7 or a Vista screen for that matter.
Talk about a whole new world!

E.

Read yesterday there is a patch in the works for security issues on the new Win8

Am going to the computer store next week to get a few last items needed to build my new XP Pro to manage music and movies an such to let my work computer be just that, the work computer.

I have windows 8. I had to rollback my primary machine to Windows 7 for, of all reasons, backwards compatibility. Windows 8 broke too many of my critical apps.

the one in particular I'm after is to get SQL server up and running any shape or form. i.e. express or the real deal. I'm still figuring my way around this new fangled "thang". At least I got the dual monitor thing working and it's AWESOME!!!
