I was lucky enough to be at the right place and the right time last night to get this incredible chase of two rare species:
They must have been running for hours, because I also caught them in the light of day.
I looked up the species and got their latin names as labeled in the following closup
Anywhere close to the local ACME Supply Co. headquarters?
Beepbeep!
If anyone's interested I made the above whirlygigs. I may change the posts and lower them in the future. But I am pretty happy with how they came out. they look cool when spinning, but the picture doesn't do them justice, since you can't really see the feet or the shapes and colors of the legs.
Looks like a fun project. What are you using for the pivot point on the mounting post?

Rankin,
Wile E. and the Roadrunner both do pivot. A hole was drilled in tht bottom of the body, and inserted in that was a "ball bearing" ball and behind that was driven a brass tub. A lignt pin was driven in the post and the post was inserted into the brass tube in the body. The animals can be lifted straight up off the pin.
The bad part of letting them pivot is that the wind can make is to they are both running parallel, or so that the roadrunner is chasing the coyote. (but it is just a couple of whirlygigs).
That's cool ... Sylvester & Tweety next? 😉
Funny...
hahaha this made me giggle... Thanks for posting. I needed that!! 🙂
