My washing machine has apparently lost two of its feet.
How I'm going to have to get to that back left foot is going to be a feat all in its self. I can't just slide it out.
I'll probably have to get the neighbor boys to lower me upside down like when I hooked up the dryer.
Looks like I can't get a break. Seems like I can fit behind the thing. Finding that foot, putting it back on and getting back may be another matter.
Eric - no matter how bad you think things are now - they can always get worse (I'm sure you know that as well or better than me).
The lesson is, focus on the positive (timely with Thanksgiving).
Actually, I'm not a negative person at all. Not saying you think I am at all.
I just tire of stuff happening. I don't like drama.
There is several other things going on right now I'm not talking about.
We have our washer and dryer in the garage, sandwiched tightly between a water softener and a utility sink. When the top-loading washer crapped out a few months back, I bought a new front-loader, brought it home, worried it into place and hooked it up. Ran the first load without incident, then realized that the washer, which sits to the right of the dryer, has a door that's hinged on the left side. The dryer door is hinged on the right side.
Door location wasn't an issue with the top-loading washer, because the washer door didn't interfere with the dryer door. But now I have to open both doors 90°, pull clothes from the washer, step around the open doors, and shove the clothes into the dryer. Repeat about 3 times per load.
I *could* switch the washer and dryer locations, but that would mean wiggling each one out its location, extending the hookups for each (water lines for the washer, vent hose for the dryer), and reinstalling in their new locations. But that seems like such an onerous task that, for now at least, we're living with the conflicting doors.
I hate home appliances.
Try swapping door swing on a frig one day.
That ain't fun.
I've done it a few times.
I did manage to get one of the feet back on the washer earlier.
Without it I would be back to washing clothes in the kitchen sink like I used to do.
I haven't tested it yet so I can't claim success.
I had that same problem Jim. Luckily I bought the units from a great local company that included installation. I called them to see what to do and they sent the guy back out to rebook them up in the proper alignment. Sometimes it pays to have things done.
BigE, you are looking at this the wrong way!! Don't worry about getting the kid from down the street to hold you up-side-down, rather get that busty blonde from the other side of the street to do it. Either way you should be able to get a leg over.
E., if the feet falling off of your dryer is the biggest drama you have to deal with, you are one LUCKY feller!!
