We have a better than average Daisy BB guy, BB would just roll out the end of the barrel. Sprayed it good in every place I could spray WD 40.....works great now.
It will work fine if you keep it up but WD-40 gums things up, it is a water displacement product that also can be used as a cleaner. It is not a lubricant.
I would take the gun apart, clean it and lightly lube it and reassemble.
jud
It has a hole for oil, I will do so. I am afraid if I took it apart, knowing what I do about air guns, it would fly all to pieces never to go together again.
Sam,
That stuff works well on many things...I use it soaked in a no 4 steel wool on then chrome for the Harley. Makes it look like new and doesn't leave a mark.
How much you wanna bet with a bit of googling, you can find blow up diagrams and assembly procedures on line?? I know every rifle, shotgun and handgun I own, it's available.
Everything WD 40 does it does in a mediocre fashion. Lots of better penetrants, lots of better lubricants, lots of better drill and tap fluids, lots of better protectants, lots of better solvents. And when the volitiles go away it certainly does leave a gummy film that will attract dust.
For any gun, even a BB gun, gun oil should be just about perfect. I would use good old Hopps bore cleaner for the rust, then a light coat of gun oil, or any light machine oil like 3in1 oil. Nab the wife's Singer Oil when she ain't lookin'. Same stuff.
Brass instrument valve oil is also a multiuse light lubricant once everything is clean. I use it for fishing reels as well as instrument valves.
I'm betting Sam think the wd40 he owns will work just fine compared to other products he doesn't own.

you are wise beyond your years.

Did I ever mention the time that I got annoyed at the squeaking my ceiling fan was making?
Yep, just got right up there on the step ladder and proceded to spray W-D 40 into the ceiling fan...
POOF!!!
...meh, I didn't need those eyebrows anyway.
I now read the lables on ALL cans before using the product.

I must have every oil known to man. I have a pretty extensive shop and tools. 3 in 1, singer sewing machine oil, light military oil use that a lot, I have an entire bottle of that expensive oil you lubricate the slides on HP plotters with, and some others. The gun has an Oil hole, will probably put some 3 in 1 in there or something. All I know is it did not work, now it does, it may gum up and quit a week from now. It is not a big deal. The WD-40 has worked well to fix many things over the years, when it does not, I can always turn to the Duck Tape or the Hammer....Have you tried the Gorilla Glue Duck tape, that stuff is heavy duty.

No, but I'll try it. They make nice products.
I just bought a bottle of Gorilla Super Glue. Awesome stuff with a nice big applicator that doesn't wad up after the first use.

If it moves but shouldn't, Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move but should, WD40.
