Engineering company URS Settled For $52.4 Million On I-35W Bridge Lawsuit in Minnesota.

http://www.startribune.com/local/101309694.html?elr=KArks:DCiUHc3E7_V_nDaycUiD3aPc:_Yyc:aUU&elr=KArksLckD8EQDUoaEyqyP4O:DW3ckUiD3aPc:_Yyc:aU1yDEmP:QMDCinchO7DU

By settling now URS avoids the punitive phase of litigation, which could have been $100s of millions, triple damages or more.

In the end it can be shown that URS was doing exactly what it's client, The State of Minnesota requested, but the professional owes an obligation to the public far beyond a client contract.

Amazing.......

If somebody told me I owed them 52.4 Million; I'd laugh and say, if I never spend a dime, you will get your money in my next 10 or 11 life times.

To URS, or BP, or any other big company for that matter, it's a part of doing business. It means nothing more than a line item in a ledger.

The only problem they have, is what adjustment do they make to continue their lifestyle.

To put it into perspective; URS's profit for 2009 2Q was $61.9 million.
