I must preface this by reporting my wife is currently the recipient of numerous phone calls every day from insurance representatives?ÿ wanting to sell her supplemental insurance to go with her Medicare.?ÿ She isn't on Medicare and wouldn't respond well to a telephone solicitation for anything for any reason.?ÿ But, they keep calling.
This morning I was two steps closer to our landline when the phone rang.?ÿ I simply said, "Hello".?ÿ The caller simply asked, "(wife's name?"?ÿ So, I say, "Just one second." and hand the phone to her.?ÿ A few seconds later she hands the phone back to me and says, "This call is for you."?ÿ So, I say something like "Hello, again" and a woman starts talking to me.?ÿ I had no clue who it was so I asked, "Who am I speaking with?"
It was my sister.?ÿ She didn't recognize voice and I didn't recognize hers.?ÿ We never call each other.?ÿ Rarely see each other.?ÿ Might send an email once or twice per year.?ÿ We live about 30 miles apart but our circles of activity rarely overlap.
