That is more than a 20-minute drive from Davis. I'm betting you didn't sleep in your own bed last night after the game.

I sure miss the Louisiana Red Hots that Goetz & Sons in Everett, Washington used to make. Definitely NOT OSHA-approved, probably fell under a grandfather clause. Those things were SO hot, they would cook themselves!

Funny story about those. A good friend of mine really liked them as well and I had a bunch of them, so I gave him a fair amount. He put them in the freezer and one day, his wife and kids (along with one or two visiting children) decided they wanted some hot dogs. Not realizing exactly what these were, the wife cooked them up and fed them to the kids. Apparently it took her a bit to figure out why the children were crying...

Sadly, Goetz & Sons are no longer in business- IIRC they were bought out a few years ago by some outfit in Woodinville and the old Everett location closed. Maybe the new company makes them, but I can't seem to find it... such is life.

Starting in upstate New York, running along the Erie Canal, then along the south shore of the Great Lakes is America's sausage belt. It's a wonderful thing.

White Hots are local to a small area of western NY. Zweigles are a standout example thereof.

My Mom's brother flew B-17's from England, C-124's from Tokyo, and C-130's from Travis. While stationed at Dover, he ferried planes all over. Whenever he could he and the flight crew would buy 500 lbs of "porkers" (see pic above) and sell 'em at home.

There's nothing better than a couple of whites w/ everything. Except sex. Sex is definitely better.
