Topcon Hiper Rover connection time

Hi,

I have a Topcon Hiper Pro system, about 3 years old. When I set up the base, the FC100 connects relatively quickly via Bluetooth to the base, but I often have to wait 10 minutes or so, for the rover to connect to the FC100.

Once it's there it's fine for the day, so I have no problems with that. This seems to be getting worse, although I can't be sure about it. A few times, maybe 10%, the card is not recognised, so has to be taken out and put back in.

Is there a way to help it on its way?

Bluetooth is some sort of 2 way radio handshake, whereby they find each other, and work together.

Sounds like (to me) you should try a different data collector, and see if it is at the DC end, or the Topcon end.

then, you will have 1/2 of the equasion solved, maybe.

I have had that problem when I shut down the data collector before closing the job.

Might be on to something there, I usually just shut the whole collector down. A proper organised sequence of closing files and shutting down is obviously what should be done. I will have to experiment.
