Congratulations, Derek. Hope that you and your survey chicken are having a great day on your birthday, today. Best regards to SWMBO as well.

by DEREK G. GRAHAM OLS OLIP , North Aboyne Farm (Elora Ontario Canada), Wednesday, December 14, 2011, 17:04 (16 minutes ago) @ Holy Cow
"Yes Dear" is THE most important answer to SWMBO in order to get along since May 29, 1969 !
Mind you, she had early training with her Dear Dad, who along with her two brothers, uncle and grandfather were/are surveyors in Blighty.
When she got off the boat in 1968 from Blighty, entrained upriver to Toronto on her way around the World with a girlfriend, she met this scrawny wretch of an articling student surveyor.
Overpowered with hope she could make something out of him, it's surprising that she could do so well with the raw material she was given to work with !
AND,..................... she said Happy Birthday to me today, too!
(I won't go on about what else or Angel and Wendell will blush.)
Cheers,
Derek

Anyone have a North Aboyne to English translator? How does one keep a train afloat going up a river? I've known many kinds of students, but never one that was "articling".

Tis the TNAI's Birthday Today (Canada Observed)

Having done a little research into the observance of U.S. holidays vs. Canadian holidays there appears to be a strong correlation between U.S. and Canadian religious holidays being observed contemporaneously. This pattern seems to fall apart when secular holidays are viewed. i.e.

U.S. Flag day June 14th
Canada Flag Day February 15th

U.S. Independance Day July 4
Canada Canada Day July 1

U.S. Thanksgiving 4th Thursday in November
Canada Thanksgiving second Monday in October

By rough calculation it appears we here in the U.S. don't officially observe Derek Graham's birthday until this Friday...?

Mes Chers Amis de Sud, particulairement Sieur de Vache Religieuse-

Je vous en remercie pour vos meilleur voeux de mon jour de naissance !

Now, a direct translation for those outside of the Maine/Vermont/Louisiana prefectures .... 😉

Thank you for your best wishes.

"Articling" is most definitely not what I was thinking it might be. This is the very type of thing that makes this board so interesting. Just when you start to think you have heard or experienced everything in life, you are proven wrong.
