Florida Strawberries, to me at least, are no longer edible because of the continuing illegal use of pesticides (methyl iodide). The Dept. of Agriculture inspectors are "too few? to check all the Strawberry production in the State.?ÿ All compliments of ??Monsanto Agrochemical Company.? whom basically pays them off.

To keep these low-lying berries pest- and disease-free, growers use fumigants, most commonly methyl bromide, chloropicrin, and Telone (1,3-D). All of these have been linked to developmental issues, cancer, and hormone disruption in children, according to the Pesticide Action Network North America. Even worse is the fumigant methyl iodide, which the EPA banned in 2012 but can still be used while farmers?? stocks last.?

The reason I drive sixty miles to work is so I can live someplace where I know who and where I'm getting my food from. ?ÿI haven't been in a grocery store more than 3-4 time a year in the past decade. ?ÿPretty sure the Mennonite kids running the fruit stand aren't on Monsanto's payroll. ?ÿ ??ÿ
Smoothies. Enjoying a strawberry banana smoothie now. Next week blueberry banana. Everyone of all ages love them here. Blender working overtime here. Also have one of those magic bullet blenders for individual servings.
