It's hard to get better than going through old castles & estates, keeping in mind the history and trying to place yourself in that time frame.
I've seen a few in the UK & parts of europe, but this one really stood out. It goes back to 11th century, complete with a dungeon & torture devices still on display. Gives ya the willies just to see it.
That is a real castle and I would really like to tour it!
The "castle" that we saw and linked above is not really a castle, but a mansion built by/ for a rich couple.
What was fascinating to me was the awesome woodwork and the great craftsman in building it and I think in only three years!
Billed as how the rich and famous lived.

How does it rate compared to the Hearst castle?
Hearst Castle is bigger and a lot of art work.
