I recently read something about a major beer brand taking a hit from its consumers, apparently over consumers disagreeing with something the management had said or done. And I will be the first to admit I haven't followed the story and know very little about it. But I do like beer...and always have.
I was reminded of the days back in '68 when I was a free-wheeling young human enjoying my friends and the esprit de jour.
A favorite drink of myself and friends was a beer produced by the Spoetzl Brewing Co. in Shiner, Texas and aptly named for that town. We loved it. The fact that the beer was produced by some money hungry capitalist...
...that no doubt hated hippies and all we stood for weighed little on our minds. Whatever his level of moral or social turpitude was secondary to the quality of the beer. Hell, we probably would have like it if Joseph Stalin owned the place.
My, my...don't things change over the years. 😉
