I got this email yesterday at the Land Survey Workshops address.
Hi ... I had emailed previously but no response as of yet.
If I order a PDF copy of a survey (cost is $180 for the one I need) am I able to request a printed version of same survey too? If so, at what cost to have both?
(insert face palm here)
As bad as that is, it got worse when I did a little bit of research. The name attached to the email was rather unique and included a phone number. Turns out, the person who sent this email is a Real Estate Agent in Ontario. Yep, apparently RE Agents in Ontario think you can log into a website and order a copy of any survey of any tract. Wow.
Apparently they also can't keep track of whom they have contacted about copies of surveys. Earlier email with no response? Errrr.... not at my address. This is the first time that name shows up in my account.
Oh well, might as well laugh about it. I sent back a nice note explaining that a land survey was a Professional Service that had to be performed by a person licensed in the area where the land is located.
For anyone wondering, no, we do not have "surveys" for sale.

So Where Is The Site That Posted The $180 Price?
I think we want to check that out. I know surveyors that would be happy to sell pdfs for $180 a pop.

So Where Is The Site That Posted The $180 Price?
I've got cabinets full of surveys I'll sell for $170/ea. But that's a bulk rate.
New Zealand is what you guys might call a "recording state".
And we can download a copy of any survey in the system for around $5.
Do you know any companies in New Zealand who use drones for surveying?
Photogrametry of any sort is not big here - I've some small use made of drones from building inspection post the Canterbury earthquake but that is it. I'm not aware of any company making serious use of them
