Just got back from RPLS. What an ordeal. Not only is it slower than molasses, it seems to just about lock up my computer when I try to do anything else while it's open. Maybe it's my imagination, but it seems to even slow down the computer for a few minutes after I close it.
The other day I had it open at work and I got a conference call from a realtor and a lawyer that wanted my opinion about something. The realtor emails both of us three pdf's of drawings while we're talking. It was pretty embarrassing (sp?) when he's saying "Now look at the third drawing" and I had to say "Wait, my computer's still trying to open the first one."
I heard that it also caused the delay in the killing of the BP oil spill. Someone over there had it figured out but by the time BP could get the page to load and then "find" the answer.........;-)
I visit there frequently to look, it is so hard to participate.
Yesterday I typed a reply to give some advice on hand inking. In attempting to send that reply my effort was lost somewhere in cyberspace as it took so long to do so my server timed out on me, twice.
When a person has a few minutes to check in on a site, it is not right that the site will in return attempt to suck them into an unwelcome ordeal.
I have adopted a rule, if it takes overtime to load a page, I figure that it is eating away at my computers resources and not worth viewing.
