When I was a youngster I would go to a music festival every summer at the Cotton Bowl called the Texas Jamm. Every Year it was a different headliner but one thing that you could bet on was that Sammy Hagar would be there every year. One year, probably 1984 or 1985, Sammy did not come. Someone spray painted on a bed sheet and hung it from the upper deck "Where the Hell is Sammy??". I can still remember it plain as day, hanging there in big red letters.

So I said that to say this...

WHERE THE HELL IS DERAL??

Speaking of spray painted bed sheets:

My friends and I from the University of Houston unfurled one in the endzone of Kyle Field in 1981 that had the Texas A&M logo with an "E" added on each end.

Did you know that the campus police had their own holding tank in the stadium?

I do remember the first Texas Jamm held, they tried to fit near 90,000 patrons inside a place that maxed out around 70,000 people spaces including the playing field.

I was there the day before at Willie's 4th of July Birthday Gathering with around 75,000 followers.

Both days it was past 100F and it was said to have hit 120+ at midfield.

You're probably right. It doesn't seem like his nature to shun anybody.
