Headed out to town to get some supplies. A screen and new chord for the screen door. New light fixture for the bathroom and some extra bulbs to have around for various lights and such. Can’t find normal light bulbs anymore. I think you need a PHD in light bulbs to figure out what works and doesn’t now days . The worst is you can’t buy the screen cut to fit so you buy more than is needed. I need about 28” x 58” that allows for some overlap and not a lot of waste. But I had to settle for 36” x 84”. Get home take the door off its hinges dug out the old screen door plunger wheel and such. Get screen door all flat and braced up. Have the girls and wife come to help and learn. Open the brand new bag of 36” x 84” and well it’s not 84” long its 55” so I tried applying a scale factor but it just didn’t stretch that far lol. Geezers. I reckon someone bought it cut what they needed and returned to the store. It would not be bad except making and hour plus round trip is not fun. We all went had a nice lunch and now it seems i have to make another trip. Oh well. Degnabit. I just want an old small mom n pop hardware store again. Take old screen and cut what ya need pay for it and be done.
