I looked up Tiffany's and found this web site. I've never paid too much attention to swords but this is an interest of late.

While in Puerto Rico a few months ago I visited the old San Juan Fort and took a few pics of the swords from that era.

It appears the detail and simplicity are different when it comes to actual swords used in combat. The fancy ones are the ones that seem to be the "Gold Watch" after years of service/dedication.

The article about the sword that resurfaced deemed the sword priceless. In the late 1800's they were extremely expensive (also extremely expensive for today).

graig- thanks those high art tiffany swords are the worlds best a sword of that quality cost 3-5,000 dollars then are worth up to 1/2 a million today--thanks again, ted

This is what I found interesting about the price

"A similar presentation sword given to Gen. Ulysses S. Grant sold at auction in 2007 for $1.6 million. Christie's is currently auctioning a similar silver Tiffany sword made in 1890 for between $80,000 to $120,000."

I had mis read the price earlier. Now that's a heck of a find.
