Especially applicable from a perspective 40 years after high school graduation. This goes far beyond looks. Some "potentials" turned out to be horrible parents or extremely selfish twits. Others developed debilitating and hugely expensive medical conditions that have bankrupted their families both financially and emotionally. A couple could never cut the umbilical cord from their mothers, resultling in a life completely dominated by whatever Mama decided. One became a stripper for over 20 years.
And here I thought no one paid too much attention to my changing signature line. 🙂
