I rag on the federal government a lot, but some of it actually works quite well and they desrve praise.
We all know and love NGS for the good things they do! But today the subject is USGS.
I am in need of an old 15' quad that I can't find on line anywhere (it's missing from the Maptech site) so yesterday I sent an email to who knows who at USGS. Already have a response this morning that there are two editions, they will color scan them and email them to me - and best of all, there will be no charge.
It's a real shame that the rest of the feds can't take lessons from NGS & USGS!
I very much agree about the NGS. They make OPUS VERY easy to use. One of the few times that I can recall where government actually runs efficiently for the general public.
Now that this has morphed into P&R, would someone kindly move this over so we don't get hate mail from my colleague in Austin?
Thanks,
