While I will admit I am addicted to two-wheeled powered vehicles that burn fossil fuel, I am not much of an artisan when it comes to working on them. At least in my later years.
I have taken on a few rebuilds in my day. They take way too long (measured in decades), cost WAY too much money, and you only get to ride them if they're complete. Fluids and tires with a plug or two here and there is about all I attempt anymore. I did adjust the valves on a 500cc single recently. Butch down at the shop didn't charge me anything to fix what I had "fixed"...
I recently saw these pics on an acquaintance's web blog. Build time was about a year from the day he got back from the auction (first pic) until he rolled this '55 350cc single out into the sunshine (second pic).
Some people just have the Midas Touch when it comes to builds. Color me green with envy...
"before"

I collect coprolites. :-$ They don't take up much room and it's fun to hand someone one and then tell them what it is.:-D
I'm guessing that is antique lizard scat. I'm just too lazy to Google it...
everybody has something that tickles their fancy.
Money Penny and I have shelf after shelf after shelf of McCoy Pottery. Part of the fun of being hoomin'!
That man earned a place in Motorcycle heaven. It's isn't just the re-build, it's the story that goes with it. Priceless. Total labor of love. My hat's off to the guy.
