Our wonderful governor Jerry Brown signed into law several gun control laws. Apparently there has been a problem with people being harmed by these guys going around carrying UNLOADED handguns openly? I do not have a ccw. I am left wondering if there is anywhere I can openly carry a loaded or unloaded handgun. Is the national forest considered a public place? How about along an old gravel county road? Very frustrated and sad for my kids. JRL
Sounds like a well thought out law, thought out by an idiot and signed into law by an idiot. What it does makes you a law breaker if you transport it openly so all can see and know you have a firearm. To avoid being a criminal, you will need to hide that firearm, oops, that's illegal also. Time to pack your bags and move out of the state like many others have done.

He isn't called Moonbeam for nothing!
Louisiana is a shall issue, open carry state.
Well I would move in a heartbeat, if it were not for family, property, and the fact that I love where I live (other than the state).
I really hope this might be what we need to push through shall issue legislation.
I have been told the CCW permit only covers 1 specific gun and you must carry it concealed (which is not on the belt). My only handgun at the moment is a J frame revolver. The CCW permit costs something like $175 and you have to re-new it every year.
I guess I need to look into it some more if I want to utilize my handgun anywhere other than private property.
Go State of Jefferson!!!!! We have all the resources.

I'd have to leave this....

Hope he's not carrying:-)
Hey, just joking here. I, personally, am concerned about my 3rd Amendment rights.

Two things, Judson. Well, maybe three.
1) Jerry Brown is not an idiot.
2) I agree with you about moving. Love it or leave it, I say.
3) this really is political. Don't be coming around messing up my peaceful non-P&R world with your 2nd Amendment issues.
Thanks,
Don

It's against the law to utilize a firearm while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
There are already laws in place for just about everything.
