Maybe you should "stage" it. Put a pretty bowl full of citrus on the counter, add a apple pie-scented diffuser somewhere in the living room...

Really complicated DIY under shelf light project in my current kitchen (stick on battery powered):
I hope you realize if you ever decide to sell that place the masonry wall will need to be regrouted...after the existing grout is tested for asbestos before removal.?ÿ Oh, and that shelf will need to be lowered to make it ADA compliant.
I would never try to sell this place, let the kids deal with that hee hee! The lady we bought it from had been trying to sell it for 3 years, she went through a dozen Realtors. When we saw it I immediately liked it, it's unique, it's quirky. Wife liked it too but then she got all practical. Waited a month then after all the other very boring options she said let's buy that house, you sure? Okay with me. Spent $1500 in inspections just to get the long list of issues but we did do the electrical work needed. I said keep the other house, let the kids live there (I know I know bad idea). She said no sell it. Selling it isn't going so well. Two cancels so far, turned down two lowballers. We've agreed on the lowest acceptable price especially since we have to put a roof on it, if we can't get that soon then rental market here we come. Market is softening here, I think it outran what people can realistically pay given wage levels, etc. We are at the seasonal peak too, sales are peaking, inventory has ticked up, buyers are very picky. Can't say I blame them given the cost of a home has doubled inflation since the 1990s.
Bought the house because of the living room and big lot...
