Texas A&M to formally accept today.
Goodbye Big 12.
Personally I think the NCAA should limit a conference to 12 teams. These upcoming 14 and 16 team conferences can mean up to a 4 year gap before playing some conference members, which means it is not really a conference anymore. The only way out is to give up some of those early season games against "The Sisters of the Poor".
I see these big conferences each wanting more guaranteed BCS slots.

What you may see happen is the Big 12 becoming the Big 16 with a number of outliers joining.
You Mean The Big Texas And Some Hanger Ons?
The heart of the Big 12 will go elsewhere.
A conference is a group of potential equals, no one gets a head start.

Nah. Texas is a goner unless they straighten up and fly right.
Say hello to the wonderful world of getting your ass whipped on a regular basis, Texas A&M, at least in conference play.
I forgot, SEC BABY!
While I think you're right, A&M does have a way of surprising the hell out of UT when they're walking over EVERYBODY. They have the talent, and it wouldn't surprise me to see the Aggies beat the hell out of the Tigers.
My thing is, what is my buddy the vet going to do when they play. His undergrad is A&M and his DVM is LSU. 🙂
Not so Fast SEC
