Not sure where I heard this, but I keep it in mind every day...
"If you are going about your day and run into an A*#hole, you just ran into an A*#hole, nothing more, nothing less. Get back to your day and forget it. If, however, everyone you run into is an A*#hole, YOU'RE THE PROBLEM."
I try to stay on the right side of that equation.

When EVERYONE ELSE is just putting along, slower than you want to be going, maybe, just maybe, you are the one being unreasonable. You know they are all plotting against you. Just as soon as you switch into a lane that appears to be going faster than the rest, boom!, your new lane is now the slowest for some reason.

Why do people in the slow lane change lanes in front of me then slow down? Because they are on the phone or Facebooking while driving.
I notice a lot of drivers can only do one thing at a time. They drive down the on ramp at 50, merge in front of a car then go 500' then punch it.

Last weekend I was driving my family home from Echo Lake on Highway 50. We were in my wife's Honda, and I was doing about 65 mph in the No. 2 lane when a black Toyota Highlander sped past me in the No. 1 lane, pulled sharply in front of me and then immediately slowed to 60. After a minute or so he still hadn't increased his speed, so I pulled into the No. 1 lane and slowly passed him. Traffic was modest, so there wasn't any need for quick maneuvers, and when I got 1/4 mile or so ahead of him I changed back to the No. 2 lane. A couple of miles later he did the same thing.
There seemed to be no explanation for it, until my wife reminded me about all the bumper stickers she has on the back window. I guess the guy was just trying to annoy me.

Some Californians were taught to drive on mountain roads, thusly: accelerate (forced downshift) out of the curve, brake into the next curve, etc. stop every five miles to let the passengers barf. If brakes are required going up a windy 8% grade then technique could be improved but I see it a lot. Even following a slow logging truck, the car behind the truck keeps braking, must keep the gap between 6' and 7'.

I wondered why it was I was always in some sort of pissing contest with BMW drivers.
I thought they were just angry at my truck...apparently there is some sort of mindset with BMW drivers.

Ahhhh! The whole bunch of ya are just jealous you are not old enough to drive your Yugo at 33 1/3 mph in the left lane with your left blinker permanently on. Of course there are some areas you don’t do that or a “brother” is liable to bust a cap at you.
Have a great weekend! B-)
We have a different fundamental problem here.
When the locals all go into hiding because the place is overrun with the jerks from New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and other states, then you can find yourself running into only jerks on certain days.

Was that you in that hybrid with the Obama 2012 stickers on the back?
