We get all kinds of fun spam posts that most of you will never see. I remove spammy posts every day here in the forums, but since they are originating from new spammy users, they automatically get put into a review queue before being released into the wild. This saves you from seeing most of the crap that they attempt to post, albeit a few get through here and there.
Anyway, some of them are particularly entertaining. Here's one that I just deleted and banned a few moments ago. It was added to a thread about the history of theodolites. I'm sharing it with you because it sucks. 😀
As you can see there are many things to consider when doing a search for good vacuum cleaner information that will help you in your decision making processes. Prior to making your search you should take the time set up a simple comparison chart on a piece of paper will make your comparisons a great deal easier and clearer. Remember the better job you do in gathering your vacuum cleaner information the better chance you will be purchase the best vacuum cleaner for your home or office.
We had a battery powered mini vacuum cleaner that we'd use to vacuum off our T-2 theodolite before putting it back in the bullet canister in dry dusty windy desert work.?ÿ It could get into nooks and crannies a cloth couldn't & looked a bit like this:
Also worked good a sucking the crap out of HP-41s.
I thought it was for getting the loose crap out of holes when digging for buried monuments in granular materials.?ÿ Wished for a really good battery powered vacuum machine many a time.
Some years ago Rankin File gave me the idea of using a shop vac when excavating monuments below pavement grade.?ÿ It's a nuisance to haul a generator and shop vac in the truck, but it sure makes quick work of clearing out the sand and gravel, especially once you get down a couple of feet.
Were they pushing any particular manufacturer because I need a new one. ?????ÿ
I believe that it is still possible to get a replacement motor assembly for almost every shop vac ever made. Costs 1/3 of getting a whole new setup.
I've got a variety of attachments, large and super small to clean most anything. I have a 3/4in clear tube that I will ducktape on my vacuum hose so I can get some kind of idea of what is coming in from a hole for a monument find.
I have a DeWalt 20v that does a decent job unless you are trying to pickup yards and yards of dirt. It only holds a couple of gallons and then it needs to be emptied and sometimes a filter cleaning.
