Had Wells Fargo as my bank back in the late 80's, because they let me open an account from home before I got out to Pasadena for college (they had an advert in my college acceptance letter, back then).
Got pissed off at them for various reasons, closed my account, and swore I'd never use Wells Fargo again. Then moved back to Colorado in 1997, got a Norwest account, only to have them bought out by Wells Fargo, so all of a sudden I was a Wells Fargo customer again. Gave them the "benefit of the doubt", and kept the account for about 10 years.
Then I started my own company, and by default, opened a business account with Wells Fargo, thinking they may treat me well since I'd been a personal customer for 10 years at that point. After a year (this was in the "banking crisis"), they dropped my business credit limit from 10K to 3K. 3K is not enough for my business - I can easily charge more than that in a single transaction. So I dropped all my accounts with Wells Fargo, and went with a local credit union.
I've since been ABSOLUTELY AMAZED at how much money I've saved in bank fees. My QuickBooks accounts make it very clear. Not only am I getting better service from my local CU, I'm back up to a decent credit limit for my business, and it costs me a LOT less than Wells Fargo in banking fees. In fact, I recently got a dividend, as a CU member. I'd NEVER use Wells Fargo, ever again. They fail to deliver service, charge a lot, and I have no idea how they're still in business. (Must be that TARP bailout from our federal gov't back in 2008... I think they're a good example of a business that should have gone out of business...)

>The teller kept saying, "We are envelope free," which is a catchy phrase but told the poor old souls nothing. Geez.
Aww.... 🙁 She shoulda offered to help them or something. Todays technology can get very confusing for our older human beings. (heck even for THIS human being!!) 😉
I have always had a soft spot for the elderly. I would have helped them as much as I could had I seen something like that. Whenever I get the chance, I open doors, offer my spot in lines, carry their food to their table, get groceries down for them, etc... whatever the situation may be that I can help them with, I try and give my best.
> I went into a Lamps Plus store about a year ago to buy a bulb. In a moment of weakness I gave them my email address. Now I get spam from them twice a week. I promise you I will sit in the dark for a long time before I buy anything else from Lamps Plus.
Hey they did this to me too!! When mom was sick, it was too hard for her to turn the little knob thingy on the lamp she had, so I went and bought her a touch lamp at Lamps Plus in Upland, Calif. The guy had me fill out a warranty card. Next thing I know I got spammed 2x or more a week with LAMPS PLUS emails!! I opted out but I still get them. Sheesh.... :-/
