In the Office 2010 File|Recent display, hovering the mouse over a filename brings up a tooltip displaying the filename and path. This is useful, but even more useful would be to have additional properties (e.g., document title, tags and comments) displayed as well. A web search turned up a single intriguing suggestion that changing a registry value could make this happen, but I'm leery of messing with regedit without at least knowing that more than one person has made the edit without trashing their system. Have any of you ever tried this, or found another way to effect the change?

Thanks.

I've messed around in regedit before, but if it doesn't look right leave it alone. Can you post a link or what is being suggested for change?

The one reference I saw addressed the QuickTip setting, but it looks to me like there might be others that come into play, like InfoTip or PreviewDetails:

Well in my opinion I don't see how anything will be harmed regarding the operating system, go for it!

Go to the Windows Secrets Lounge and post the question there.
