I think this weekends game will be a close one and one of the classics between this old rivaly.
A poll was taken in Nebraska asking what fans would miss most about leaving the Big 12. The overwhelming choice among those given was "The old Big 8 teams". The Big 12 never seemed to be a good fit for Nebraska. Despite Oklahoma and Oklahoma State being members of the south teams of the Big 12, Nebraska fans will always remember them as being quality teams of the Big 8.

This is going to be a great game. I'm still not sure why Nebraska decided to bail on the Big 12.
Nebraska Got Tired Of The Texas Arrogance
And the fact that Texas always got more money.
Besides that the Big 10/12 is a better academic fit for Nebraska, whose players get to more classes than most. In the overal period they have more Academic All Americans than Penn State.

I agree with Jerry, as usual.
And Blake, the reason is simple, quoting my brother-in-law in Omaha:
M O N E Y
The first football game I ever saw at Owen Field was 1962 OU v. Nebraska.
There's been lots of games and rivalries over the years, but this one's went on consecutively for a good number of years...since the twenties, I think.
It will be a great game. I'm just sorry that the Nebraska team will have a long quiet trip home from Arlington....
