This is a high viz vest that I bought for 79 dollars. I threw in a picture of Mount Katadin which is the end of the Appalachian Trail that I took in May. The ridge line is called Knifes Edge.

Merlin,
I've a 2005 Road King and would love to take a ride on the trail. Will have to settle on some back roads of NC for now. I have a glo orange vest for field work but really have never thought about wearing the vest during a ride....hmmmm

No Motorcycles Allowed On The Appalachian Trail, Mapit

Hikers only.

Merlin did not mention that he biked the trail, only that he threw that picture in as a bonus.

My sister told me that trail is really steep.

the trails out here were graded for livestock but not back east she tells me. They go straight up the mountain.

The NC end of the trail is gorgeous. And yes, that area you would need an offroad bike to stand a chance. A touring bike would have a bad day on it.

As others have said and I am sure you are aware of you can't ride the trail, but you can ride the roads that parallel the trail and occasionally cross it. In doing so you can get to see all the major natural sites along the trail.
