With the top 10 all winning do not look for any big change in the BCS rankings.
#1 Oregon had a 15-13 stinker win over 5-5 Cal. They are being called the Lame Ducks by the press. Sorry Angel they should drop to # 2.
#2 Auburn had a slightly better 49-31 win over Georgia, but Georgia is 5-6 so that win counts for little. Auburn is fighting a battle in the press, that will make or break it's entire season. The facts will eventually come out, but not before today's votes an analysis. Auburn stays in # 2 this week.
Auburn will be the solid # 1 next week if it beats Alabama 8-2 which should move them up the few computer points they will need to pas Oregon after it beats Arizona 7-3. After beating South Carolina 7-3 in 2 weeks they may well play South Carolina in the SEC Championship. Playing the same team twice is a tough nickel to make. If they indeed do that and nobody indicts their quarterback they are # 1.
#3 TCU's 40-35 win over San Diego State 7-3 sjould keep them ahead of Boise State this week.
#4 Boise States52-14 win over Idaho 4-6 did little to help their cause. A win next week over 9-1 Nevada will add some computer points, whereas TCU plays 1-9 New Mexico.
#5 LSU, #6 Stanford, # 7 Wisconsin, # 8 Nebraska, #9 Ohio State and #10 Oklahoma State all win stand pat. Big changes in this group will come in the next few weeks.
The only ACC team currently ranked is 8-2 Virginia Tech. They have to beat Miami 7-3 to get to the ACC Championship game againts Florida State, Maryland and North carolina State, all 7-3. I expect the ACC Champion to be a 3 loss team.
The Big East currently has no team ranked in the top 25, Pitt @ 5-4 currently leads with a Big East record of 4-1. They play South Florida 6-3, West Virginia6-3 and Cincinatti 3-6. Syracuse at 7-3 has the best shot at taking the Big East Championship, but the Big East Champion could easily have 4 losses at the end of the year.
Meanwhile Penn State played hard and lead Ohio State 14-3 at the half. 105,000 Ohio State fans were booing their own team. In the second half, the top defensive player and top 2 running backs for PSU were taken off the field. Had it just been that Ohio State played better in the second half it would have been a credible loss, but the killer was balls just bouncing into Ohio State arms for 2 touchdowns. The final score of 38-14 hurt.

Good recap, Paul. Some good football was played. But I was a bit surprised that the Quackers played so poorly against Cal.

Boise State passed TCU in the popularity poll, but the BCS computer should give TCU the edge for another week. As I said Boise State should pick up enough of swing when it beats 9-1 Nevada next week while TCU plays 1-9 New Mexico.
Alabama 8-2 swapped places with 9-1 Michigan State because Michigan State did not play. The BCS should swap them back based on the computers.
Florida and Kansas State fell out, USC and Miami got in Texas A&M got a big jump to 18. USC will not be in the BCS poll.
